Leading online estate agent raising funds to power growth plans

The UK’s pioneering online estate agent, I Am The Agent, has confirmed an undisclosed investment from some of the most astute financial institutions. With backing from Goldman Sachs, Saatchi and Saatchi, PWC, JP Morgan and Odey Capital, the fundraising will fuel a number of new business initiatives to underpin the agency’s fast-track growth plans.

Thanks to their proven model and backing from some great investors, the team will be moving forward with a larger fundraise to kick-off a nationwide marketing campaign with some of Britain’s top advertising executives to manage the company’s adverts.

With Rebecca Peach (ex-Goldman Sachs and with 5 years’ hands-on research of the industry and marketing expertise) leading the team, this will be a fast-track road to success given no losses and a scalable new website. The new team of backers and directors include property expert, Martin Honeywood, who will be managing the business strategy. He has a superior track record within huge property development with housing boards and ambitious growth companies, so will be able to drive the investment forward.

Rebecca Peach, I Am The Agent managing director said, “I am pleased to have the assistance and backing of some really strong and experienced players in the industry, as well as a fantastic client support team – many of whom have been with me since the business started. We are all very keen now to start allowing clients real savings when using an online estate agent and tenants/buyers a knowledgeable ‘free’ platform to find their perfect properties, again with no hidden costs.”

I Am The Agent was one of the first online estate agencies to offer fixed fee sales and letting packages to homeowners and landlords. It has over 80,000 registered users, and has saved clients in excess of £18,000,000 over the last few years. With an expert team of ex-estate agents that provide in-house to support clients and a network of local Property Assistants to service the viewings and more, I Am The Agent has options to cover all aspects of sales and lettings, and will be the only online estate agent to offer these bespoke packages.

The pricing to receive a valuation, board, professional photos, floorplans and 12 months’ marketing on Rightmove and Zoopla is just £399inc vat – a 40% saving for exactly the same offering as Purple Bricks and £279 cheaper than online competitors Emoov and Tepilo.

Rebecca’s strong ethos on client focus and enabling property owners control of their property whilst saving clearly shows in the fair pricing model and clear servicing.

Rebecca, added, “With a first successful round of strategic investment completed, we are now deciding on current opportunities for our larger investment round. This will coincide with a high profile, national marketing campaign. We’ve got a proven track record, profits and extensive market expertise and we plan to further disrupt the industry by putting the seller and landlord at the forefront of the sales and letting process.”

I Am The Agent redefines the concept of selling and letting online. It gives full control back to the person who knows the property best – the owner. Homeowners with a property to sell can highlight its features and selling points before promoting it on some of the UK’s largest property portals, including Rightmove, Zoopla, Prime Location, Needa Property and Globrix, for a single fixed fee.

I Am The Agent is ‘the people’s online estate agent’, allowing the client to ‘become the agent’. Its service is completely transparent, with all fees stated upfront. Packages start from as little as £19 including VAT.
